Terms of Service

1. Agreement and provider identity

These Terms are an agreement between you and Yoon Indo, an individual business operator trading as OSB and providing Maho under the Maho product name, for your use of Maho Browser, mahobrowser.com, account services, encrypted sync, managed AI, subscriptions, and PAYG credits.

The provider's address is 213-315, Gran City Xi 2nd Officetel, 17 Haeyang 5-ro, Sangrok-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea. Business Registration Number: 150-32-00795. Legal notices may be sent to hello@mahobrowser.com. The mail-order sales registration number will be added after its exact registered form is verified.

LemonSqueezy acts as merchant of record for purchases it processes and is responsible for checkout, payment collection, applicable transaction taxes, receipts, and its customer-facing payment terms. Maho remains responsible for providing the Maho service and entitlements described here.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 and old enough under local law to enter this agreement. If you are below the age of majority, a parent or guardian must agree where required. You must provide accurate account information, protect credentials and recovery material, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by Maho's breach of its legal duties. You may not sell, transfer, automate abuse of, or share access in a way that bypasses plan, quota, or security controls.

3. Local-first browser and encrypted sync

Maho is local-first, but optional account, authentication, encrypted sync, managed AI, billing, and security features process limited data through Maho-operated services as described in the Privacy Policy. Maho does not promise that all application data remains only on your device.

Encrypted sync is a convenience feature, not a guaranteed backup or archival service. Keep independent backups of important data. Pairing or recovery material may be required to decrypt synced content. If you lose all usable devices and recovery material, Maho may be technically unable to restore plaintext content.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Maho to violate law or third-party rights; distribute malware; probe or disrupt systems without authorization; evade limits; automate fraudulent purchases; abuse providers; or generate, upload, transmit, or request content that violates the acceptable-use rules of Cloudflare, LemonSqueezy, OpenRouter, a selected AI provider, or another service used for the requested feature.

You retain rights in content you submit. You grant Maho and necessary processors a limited license to transmit, process, and temporarily hold that content only as needed to provide, secure, and support the feature you request.

5. AI features

BYOK requests are sent to the provider you select using your provider credentials. Managed-AI requests pass through Maho's Cloudflare-hosted proxy, OpenRouter, and the selected model provider. Provider availability, pricing, acceptable-use rules, retention, and model behaviour may change.

AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, insecure, or fabricated. It is not professional legal, medical, financial, security, or other expert advice. You must review output before relying on it, publishing it, executing code, sending communications, or taking consequential action. You are responsible for having rights to inputs and for lawful use of outputs.

6. Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation

Subscription prices, billing interval, currency, included usage, and whether displayed prices include tax are shown at checkout. LemonSqueezy calculates applicable taxes and may present localized currency or conversion information. Your payment method is charged when the order is accepted. Monthly subscriptions renew on the corresponding billing date, subject to calendar and processor rules, until cancelled.

You may cancel through the LemonSqueezy customer portal linked from Maho billing settings. Cancellation stops future renewal; paid access continues until the end of the current paid period shown in your account unless a refund, chargeback, fraud response, or legal requirement ends access earlier. A failed payment may cause retry, processor notices, temporary restriction, or expiration. No grace period is promised unless shown in the product.

Upgrades, downgrades, and any proration are shown before confirmation or are governed by the merchant-of-record checkout terms. A downgrade ordinarily applies no later than the next renewal. Maho may change future prices or plan limits with reasonable advance notice where required; the new price applies on a later renewal, not retroactively to a completed period.

Except where checkout states otherwise, subscription charges are non-refundable after the service period begins. This does not limit mandatory cooling-off, withdrawal, conformity, refund, or other remedies. If you expressly request immediate supply of digital service during a withdrawal period, local law may reduce or end the withdrawal right after performance begins.

7. PAYG credits

PAYG purchases add a USD-denominated service balance to your Maho account. A displayed $10 balance means $10 of Maho service credit, not necessarily $10 of a model provider's wholesale usage. Maho currently charges managed-AI usage at calculated model cost plus a 30% service charge. Model and route prices may change; the applicable rate is the rate presented for the request or published pricing at the time of use.

Usage is measured by provider-reported or route-calculated units and rounded as shown in product pricing. A request may be charged when upstream processing occurs even if you dislike the output; a request that Maho can verify failed before billable provider processing should not be charged. Credits are not cash, deposits, stored-value currency, or transferable property; they cannot be sold, exchanged, or redeemed for cash except where law requires.

Refunded or charged-back purchases may cause the corresponding credit to be deducted, never below zero. Unused credits may be removed on account deletion because the service account is removed. If Maho permanently discontinues PAYG service, Maho will provide notice and a reasonable use, migration, or legally required refund path. Mandatory consumer remedies remain available.

8. Suspension, termination, and appeal

Maho may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary for security, suspected fraud, non-payment, provider restrictions, unlawful activity, serious or repeated breach, or protection of users and infrastructure. Where lawful and practical, Maho will provide the reason and an opportunity to appeal to hello@mahobrowser.com for human review.

You may stop using Maho at any time and may request authenticated account deletion. Deletion removes account-linked service data as described in the Privacy Policy, but legally required or technically unlinked billing, tax, refund, anti-fraud, security, and audit records may remain. Unused credits are not transferable to another account.

9. Service changes, availability, and export

Maho may add, modify, deprecate, or discontinue features. Maho will use reasonable efforts to notify users before a material paid-feature reduction or service termination and, where practical, provide a way to export or migrate user-controlled data. Maintenance, provider outages, security events, and circumstances outside reasonable control may interrupt service.

10. Intellectual property

Maho and its proprietary software, branding, interfaces, and documentation are owned by the provider or its licensors. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. They do not grant rights to copy, resell, reverse engineer where law permits restriction, or misuse Maho branding.

11. Warranties and consumer rights

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maho is provided “as is” and “as available,” without promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every system, or that AI output will be accurate. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any warranty, guarantee, remedy, or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under applicable consumer law.

If digital content or a digital service is defective, unavailable, or not as described, you may have mandatory rights to repair, replacement, price reduction, termination, or refund. Those rights apply regardless of narrower language elsewhere in these Terms.

12. Liability

Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable, breach of mandatory consumer rights, or other non-excludable liability.

Subject to that rule, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss, or lost profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, where such exclusion is lawful. Maho's aggregate liability arising from a paid service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for that service in the 12 months before the event or USD 100. For free service, the limit is USD 100. These limits do not apply where local law provides a higher mandatory remedy.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of the Republic of Korea have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection law that gives you the protections or courts available in your country of residence.

14. Export controls and sanctions

You may not use or export Maho in violation of applicable export-control, sanctions, or trade laws. You represent that you are not prohibited from receiving the service under laws applicable to you or the provider.

15. Changes to these Terms

Maho may update these Terms for legal, security, provider, or product reasons. Material changes will be posted with a revised effective date and, where required, notified in advance by email or in-product notice. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights. If you do not agree, stop using the affected service before the change takes effect and cancel any renewal.

16. General

If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remainder continues and the affected term is limited only as necessary. Failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not assign your account or these Terms without consent; Maho may assign them as part of a legitimate business transfer, subject to applicable notice and consumer rights. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, checkout disclosures, and plan-specific terms form the agreement for the relevant service.
