Your mail syncs directly from your provider over IMAP into a local SQLCipher-encrypted database — no Maho servers in between, no telemetry.

Maho Mail ships inside the browser. Optional managed AI via OpenRouter if you'd rather not bring your own key.

How to enable

Turn on Maho Mail (Beta) in Settings.

1 · Open Settings → Features

Maho Mail is off by default. Open Maho Settings and find the Features section.

2 · Enable Maho Mail (Beta)

Flip the 'Enable Maho Mail (Beta)' toggle. Mail, its settings panes, and the sidebar entry appear right away — no restart.

3 · Open Mail from the sidebar

Click the Mail icon in the sidebar to add an account and start. Turn it back off in Settings anytime.
