About
Built by one person.
Maho is developed and maintained by an individual developer — not a team, not a startup, not a venture-backed company. This page exists so you know who’s behind the software you’re trusting with your browsing and your email.

Why one person
Browsers are usually built by 200-person teams at the largest tech companies. Maho takes a different bet: a tight, opinionated, well-architected browser maintained by a single accountable person can move faster, ship more honestly, and stay closer to its users than a committee can.
The tradeoffs are real. There is no support team. There is no enterprise sales function. There is no marketing budget. What there is, is direct line to the person making every architectural decision — and a product that doesn’t answer to a board.

Why I built this
I built Maho because I needed it. Arc reached where I wanted a browser to be — sidebar, spaces, split view, a command bar that actually worked — then stopped shipping. Zen is on Firefox. Nothing picked it up on maintained Chromium.
So I made one.

What this means for you
Maho is proprietary software, not open source. That means you can’t fork it or audit the source code. To compensate, the architecture is documented in the engineering blog, the network behavior is verifiable on your own device, and the person who wrote the code is reachable at the email above.
That’s the deal. A browser that respects you, built by someone who answers their own email.
